Battling the Virus

disinfecting dominos used each week at the Eppson Center
March 2020
Every week a group meets at the Eppson Center (senior center) to play Mexican Train dominos. We've been playing together for over a year and have become friends. Last week, I started disinfecting the dominos so we can continue playing as long as possible.

So far, Wyoming has three confirmed cause of COVID-19 and others pending confirmation. The virus has not hit my community yet, but I'm sure it will be here by the end of the month.

Until COVID-19 became a part of our life, I didn't think these uniform pieces of plastic could harm anyone. Now, I'm not taking any chances.

  3. Great job doing your part! You will all benefit from the precautions! And it is good to prevent the spread of the flu which is very deadly on its own!

  4. Good practical idea! We have 1 confirmed case in our county and 9 in the state total. The ladies I play cards with have been talking about whether or not we should be getting together. The one with the major health issues said she didn't want to stop doing everything out of fear. So I think as long as we're all feeling healthy we'll try to keep playing each week.

  5. Reasonable precautions. I think this is definitely going to hit the seniors hard... not just because they are already the most vulnerable group, but because so meany need social contact daily to keep them going.

  6. Great idea to disinfect anything possible. We went from 3 confirmed cases yesterday in Spokane to 19 this morning. I honestly believe we have many, many more untested people out there. Our state has been so hard hit.
    Blessings,

  7. Great idea disinfecting the dominos! Everyone is making adjustments. That's sound reasoning.

  8. Daughter, the ice skating coach, just got notified that a family she works with are all positive. The father is a doctor and they all have it now. She's also sick but she can't find anyone here in MD that has a test. It's a nightmare.
