pressor foot with quarter-inch guide |
Sewing machines are sold with several standard presser feet, but specialized feet can also be purchased for many brands of machines. I purchased a Quarter-Inch foot with a seam guide soon after I obtained my machine. The foot allows me to have consistent quarter-inch seams for quilting.
I'd guess that nearly 90% of my sewing is done with this presser foot.
YES! That is what I was trying to photograph in my picture a couple posts back. I got one for Christmas, and I love it!
ReplyDeleteThat's something I should look into for my machine!
ReplyDeleteI think my machine has one. They are handy (and I don't even quilt - lol).
ReplyDeleteI love the look of that foot-very handy to have the seam guide, too!
ReplyDeleteThat's the foot that I use most on my machine too and I don't even quilt. :-)

Betsy
It is all Greek to me, but Interesting that the foot you would need the most was not the given foot that came with the machine.
ReplyDeleteGood tools make ALL the difference.
ReplyDeleteI love my quarter inch foot, too!
ReplyDeleteMy "standard" foot on my machine has a quarter inch mark and I love it. That is the foot I use almost exclusively. I do love knowing that my seams will always be consistant.
ReplyDeleteI use my quarter inch foot a lot. The only time I seem to change it is if I am doing a zigzag stitch. The Singer Featherweight has a foot narrower than quarter inch. I've marked the plate to indicate a quarter inch and that is working well. Good reminder to use the special feet with your machine/s.
ReplyDeleteI love that foot. I'll have to see if I can get one for my machine!
