even scrap quilts require a lot of prep work |
I've been trimming, cutting, and squaring scraps to make the
Granny Square blocks, and the scrap piles don't seem to get any smaller. That bin in the upper right is filled with 2.5 inch strips leftover from other projects. The string strips in the upper left are waiting for additional strips to be made before becoming a project. Scrappy quilts require a lot of prep work!
So many little pieces! Eventually your scrap pile will be less:)
ReplyDeletePreparation sometimes takes more time than the actual sewing.
ReplyDeleteI love the look of a scrap quilt Sorry they are so much work
ReplyDeleteAll that prep time...wow...takes a lot of patience. A scrappy quilt will take care of a portion of your leftovers, anyway!
ReplyDeleteNice, can't wait to see it done. I REALLY need to get going on getting rid of my scraps.
ReplyDeleteLove it! How DO you deal with the zig zag edges? You're using sashing, so then will you trim all the blocks? Looks like a great way to use up scraps!
