Stars and Stripes
Stars & Stripes Quilt of Valor 60 x 73 |
The only problem I encountered was the kit did not have adequate fabric to finish the stars. The kit was short on the cream fabric needed for the star block corners as well as the the points of one star. I searched my stash and found some cream fabric that was close to the correct color for the corners and decided to make a statement by making bright red points on the center star.
Stars and Stripes is Quilt of Valor #63 - only one more to make to reach my goal.

A perfect solution!
ReplyDeleteIt looks great - including those red points. That was a very good idea! Thank goodness for our stash. Otherwise you would have been shopping for more background fabric.
ReplyDeleteWow, that is a beauty! I love the star end of the quilt. Makes it perfect.
ReplyDeleteI like the addition of the stars - that's a nice way to add some zip to the rail fence pattern. Your substitutions are clever and add an extra punch.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great looking quilt! :) You are getting closer, I think you will make your goal before July!!:)
ReplyDeleteI love what you did to work the STARS into it. Perfect Nancy. You have such a good eye!
ReplyDeleteNumber 63 is gorgeous and you know how I love the pop of red. You do an amazing job on the quilts Nancy!
ReplyDeleteGreat job. Maybe I should try one of these for next year's TAP quilt/s. If I were to start now I might get more than 1 done. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteOh I love how you made the star red instead! Another lovely quilt Nancy, I see your goal and then some!
ReplyDeleteI really like this pattern!
ReplyDeleteWow...you've almost met your goal. That is quite an accomplishment!! Way to go!
