Spring Squares

Spring Squares
12 x 15 inches
Yes, the binding on this mini is being held in place by pins, but that will be remedied soon.

For some reason this mini challenged me more than the others that I've made. The white squares shown in this photo are 1 inch squares - that's tiny compared to the pieces I normally work with on the Quilts of Valor. Small pieces require near accuracy.

January - Simple Stripe
February - Sweet Valentine
March - Lucky Little Clover

  1. Love the mossy green border strips.

  2. And the finished result looks like you nailed the accuracy! Very cute! Small piecing is one of the challenges I've given myself this year. I figure if I get more accurate with the little ones then the regular sized blocks will be better too.

  3. Looks perfect too! So if the white pieces are one inch, were the colored pieces 1.5 inches? I am making a quilt with 1.5 inch blocks and the problem I'm having, or had, is that my quarter inch foot isn't accurate. I didn't realize that until I was well underway. It's something that isn't really noticeable with larger size blocks.

  5. I love the green too; it really gives it that spring theme! Working with those tiny squares...yikes. I'd say you nailed it, though. The mini quilt is very pretty!
