Off the Needles

After laundering and light blocking, the kinky yarn easily relaxed: sock on the bottom has been blocked, but the one on the top has not.
I used the second sock to audition and review the Sock Rocket needles, but quickly went back to my Knit Picks to finish.
Knitting this pair from a panel rather than a skein was unusual, and I admit to balling the yarn for the majority of the second sock.
Nice socks! It's always good to try new things. Now you know what works best.
ReplyDeleteYou can really tell the difference between blocked and unblocked. I need to pull out my newest socks and knit a round or 40! Maybe they'll go on the quilting retreat with me. Nah, should take hand quilting or appliqué.
ReplyDeleteStill pretty:)
ReplyDeleteYou calculated your yarn well with those socks!
ReplyDeleteI still have two flat panels... I love the creamy yellow and soft blue in one, but am afraid to knit with it. I'm so picky about how the yarn feels, slipping through my fingers!
ReplyDeleteThey will look great with jeans. Congrats on the finish.
ReplyDeleteWhen I knit from a flat, I ended up balling it up too. It seemed easier to knit from the ball.
Your new socks are gorgeous. Love the colors!! I'm afraid I am going to come close to running out of yarn on the yellow and white socks I am finishing now. In some ways I think that is nice--using the last drop of yarn!
ReplyDeleteI really like those socks. The colors are pretty, and I like the different striping.
ReplyDeleteLOVELY ,..sort of HUCKLEBERRY colored!
ReplyDeleteAmazing that even in the picture I can tell the difference in the blocked and unblocked sock. They are really pretty and should be fun to wear!
ReplyDeleteNice socks! I love the way the heel and toe worked out. Blocking sure makes a difference, doesn't it?
ReplyDeleteVery nice Nancy!!....Life has been so busy I haven't made it to the store for yarn...hopefully life slows down soon!
