Lace and Rosettes
Dahlia awarded blue ribbon and Best of Show at Fremont County Fair Riverton, WY July/August 2013 |
Since I was gone the last two years when the fair entry forms were due, I was unable to enter Dahlia; thus, I entered it this year. It not only received a blue ribbon but the Best of Show Rosette as well. The competition was stiff, so I am beyond honored to receive this award.

Mrs. Canon, who introduced me to knitting doilies, would be proud. The story of Mrs. Canon and this vintage doily can be found here.
Congratulations! How exciting to win ribbons! But, I'm NOT surprised. Your doilies are beautiful and your knitting well executed.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! So happy you were able to enter the fair this year~well done!

ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I always assumed doilies were crocheted; I think this is the first time I have heard of knitted doilies. They are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteOh, Yea, you won the people's choice on the vintage patterns too! I was wondering how that turned out. And big congrats on your Best of Show award. Both doilies are absolutely beautiful.
ReplyDeleteWOW. Nancy the People have spoken!!! and they were right! That's a fabulous piece of art!
ReplyDeleteWow! Congrats to you, my award-winning bloggy-knitter friend! All three items are lovely, but the best in show piece is my favorite of them all. You are a gifted knitter.
ReplyDeleteThey are all beautiful Nancy!! Congratulations on a job well done. I still haven't started a doily but I have the yarn and needles out so I'm getting closer.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Nancy! You did a beautiful job.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! These are both so beautiful! Lovely work!
ReplyDeleteHurrah! I just knew they'd love those doilies. Congratulations on your beautiful work! Awesome job.
ReplyDeleteOh Nancy - what a lovely honor to receive. Dahlia is indeed a work of art and worthy of Best in Show!
ReplyDeleteI need to pick your brain - I'm trying knit Hemlock as a shawl and I'm not liking any of my needle options. Magic loop or double points and I don't have a small enough circ to start on a circ. And I don't have 2 the same size - suggestions? g
Congratulations! They look superb.. Awards well deserved I think.
ReplyDeleteLinda
