Doniene's Socks

Doniene's socks
knit July - August 2013
Several months ago, Doniene commented on one of my sock-knitting posts that she'd like a pair of hand-knit socks. It was fun to knit this pair for her.

The package should arrive in today's mail, Doniene. Enjoy!

Yarn: Opal (#1913)
Needles: size 2 circulars
Stitches: 56 cast-on
Size: 8 - 9 women's
Pattern: Ribbed-cuff socks

  1. Hand-knit socks are the best. She'll love them.

  2. Lucky lady! They sure are pretty!

  3. Nancy, are the needles 2.5mm or 2.75? I usually use the 2.75 and find with 56 CO stitches it fits my foot better. I wear a size 7.5 shoe side. Inquiring minds want to know.

  4. What a nice thing to do! They sure are pretty. I'm sure she will love them. Isn't Opal a nice yarn?

  5. How very kind! I swear quilters and knitters are the very best people in the world!

  6. Lovely, and such a thoughtful gift. And of course they are my favorite color, which is probably why they really catch my eye. Happy knitting!

  7. Lucky gal! And how nice of you!!

  8. I am certain you made her day! Great socks Nancy! The nice long ribber cuff gives the wearer options!

  9. How sweet of you to share your knitting skills with a friend! And they are beautiful too!

  10. What pretty socks! And thank you for adding a "pro" to one possible job change; I could wear hand-knit socks EVERY day to work. I'd need more!

I love comments!
