Quilt Inspiration
This quilt won a lot of awards at the County Fair. It was simply stunning and caught everyone's eye as they entered the exhibit hall. I'd never attempt to make anything like it, but it was gorgeous!
Even though this quilt was only awarded a white ribbon, I loved it for its design, its scrappiness, and its color.

I tend to like clean quilt designs. This pattern would make a nice, scrappy Quilt of Valor.
Another simple design that reminds me of Argyle socks.
There are many talented quilters in your area, including you. Have you ever entered one of your quilts in the county fair?
ReplyDeleteWow. I have only just made my very first quilt, so these completely amaze me!
ReplyDeleteThat 3rd quilt is a Jewel Box. Very easy to make. The 1st quilt is a stunner! My local county fair winners tended toward applique quilts this year.
ReplyDeleteWow. That first quilt is a show-stopper, but I'm not a fan of black backgrounds... maybe because I know it would NEVER work in my home (with the two lot of white hair dogs).
ReplyDeleteI love a quilt show. I wonder when the next one is around here?
An inspiring show, Nancy...love the jewel box quilt!
ReplyDeleteI really don't know how they pick a single winner. All the quilts were beautiful!
ReplyDeleteVery nice pictures of the quilts displayed this year.
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful quilts and some lovely inspiration. Can't wait to see what you make of it. g
ReplyDeleteWow I am so impressed! I'd love to shake the hand of the person who created the first quilt. They are all beautiful--true works of art!
ReplyDeleteI had to bring this up on Google Chrome because the pictures didn't show on Firefox. I am so glad I did, beautiful beautiful pieces!
ReplyDeleteI like the stars to the right and left of the last image.....
ReplyDeleteGosh that first quilt has real WOW!!! I love the drama black can add to a quilt.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing
Linda
OMG for the first quilt. No wonder it won so much. But the others were wonderful in their own ways. Thanks for sharing
