Come Closer

Look very close.

What do you see?

If you said ants, you are right!

I've been battling these little buggers all summer. The "hills" appear overnight, but a quick dousing of Ant-B-Gone Dust takes care of them until a week or two later when another batch or should I say "hatch" appears in a different location.

They are the tiniest ants (less than 3/8 of an inch) I have ever seen and in the thickest concentrations.

I first noticed a hill in my yard about five years ago. The hill was nearly three inches tall and was all ants, no dirt.

  1. I wonder what kind they are? We battle fire ants down here. You can never completely get rid of them.

  2. try spraying vinegar around where they come in. they don't like it.

  3. I feel your pain - we have fire ants, tiny ants , and a bigger ant that we fight. We have had good luck with Andro. It keeps them away for several weeks until we notice them again. The fire ants are awful. If you get stung, they leave a large festering sore. I have scars from fire ant stings, even after applying abundant Benadryl cream after the sting.

  4. We've always had the ants like that during the summer. My mom would boil hot water and pour it over them and down ant hills. It usually took care of it for awhile!!
