Bangkok was a teeming city in 1979. Cars, taxis, and buses crowded the streets; boats, the Chao Phraya River. Much of the city's commerce was done on the river, but the river was also used for bathing and for laundry.
My sweet daughter-in-law was a young girl in Bangkok in those days. She has told us both beautiful and sad stories of growing up in Thailand. All I can say is that if all Thai people are as lovely and dear as she is, it must be a wonderful country!!

I don't know why, but water taxis fascinate me. Probably because they truly are foreign to my way of life!

ReplyDeleteAh! Finally somewhere I have been! I loved Bangkok, the food was amazing. I also had no idea that they had a king until I visited.
