Squared Away

Quarter Log Cabin blocks
made by Sherry G. in NY

Thanks to Sherry's generous donation of premade quilt blocks for Quilts of Valor, I'm gradually getting back into my sewing room. Last week, I squared the remaining blocks Sherry sent in her first shipment. I have a layout percolating in my mind for these patriotic blocks. Hopefully, I'll have time this week to actually sew the blocks into rows.

  4. Very nice - so nice that you receive donations of squares, fabrics, etc. This square is particularly striking.

  5. It all begins with a squaring up! You can do it!

  6. Squaring up blocks can be a little tedious but there is something quite satisfying about having a pile of neat and tidy blocks to sew together.

  7. Nice! Can't wait to see what the quilt looks like when it's done. Sorry I've not posted for a bit as we were in CA visiting old friends and relatives. We moved to WA in 1977 and were delighted to find our next door neighbors on both sides still there!
