Snowy Days

second snow storm
Laramie, WY
October 19, 2021

Last Tuesday, the second storm of the season dropped 3-4 inches of heavy, wet snow in the afternoon. The storm started as rain, and by late morning turned to snow. The first storm, a week earlier, dropped a similar amount. Thankfully, the two storms spared the trees in town that were badly damaged by an early September snow storm last year.

Temperatures rose at the end of the week, and most of the snow (except piles in parking lots) melted quickly.

  1. Sure is pretty! Glad the trees were spared.

We are supposed to get some wicked storm tonight. I guess most of our pretty colors will be blown away. :-(

And wouldn't you know ... we were supposed to go to NYC tomorrow. We called and reset the date to next week. Don't want to be driving far in bad weather.

  2. I guess I'd better check our forecast after reading Dee's comment...I had not heard about a storm tonight. Glad you are safe and warm - seems early for snow, but maybe not in Wyoming?

  5. Oh my goodness! It's beautiful. Short lived snow storms are my favorites. We don't seem to get much snow anymore I am sad to say. That white stuff we do get from time to time sure isn't snow. It's a wet ice/snow hybrid that is no fun at all.

  6. Pretty snow. Glad we got lots and lots of rain instead though. :-) We had thunder all day long with heavy rain.
I hope you still have some warmer weather before winter really sets in for good.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  7. That's a pretty picture! We got your rain and snow on Wednesday - over 2" of much needed rain. But then it turned to snow (first snow) late afternoon. It didn't stick however which is probably good. It rained again yesterday, kind of a drizzle all day. Have a great week!!

  8. Lovely to look at but a pain to get around in -- except at least Wyoming has snow removal equipment and residents know how to drive in it. Here schools and offices would close for that small amount of snow!

  9. Pretty snow as long as it is yours and not mine! Glad it melted!
