Adding Color

women's size 10 socks
August 2020

Earlier this year, I decided the socks in my drawer were pretty dull and that I needed to knit socks in brighter colors. I've made a conscious effort to work with yarn that contained very little blue, gray or black since those were the predominant colors in my pre-COVID sock drawer.

This pair was knit with some discontinued Heart and Sole (Jelly Beans) on size 2 needles.

Have you added more color to your wardrobe or crafting this year?

  2. My preference is quilting has been bright colors for many years, and also wear a lot of brights. I had a closet full of black, grey, and navy pants - and bright sweaters, jackets, and shirts. Since semi-retiring and working from home I wear way too much black and navy workout type clothes. Guess I need to bring back the brights into my wardrobe!!

  3. My socks have ALWAYS been a crazy mish-mash of colors.

My clothes are a lot more sedate.

I love how that sock yarn striped. So pretty.

  7. What fun! Those socks are great Nancy. I love them! Most of the socks I knit are colorful and I've always had some color in my clothes. I haven't really shopped in so long (other than a new pair of jeans and a pair of sandles), so I haven't added any color recently. And since I don't have to go in to the office regularly, there's no need for new stuff!

  8. Those are beautiful! I've always been a fan of clown barf so I don't need to up my color game. I need to tone it down a bit. Today I went out in public in my purple plaid pj pants and my bright green Crocs and it felt wonderful.

  9. Beautiful socks Nancy. And you have the patience to RIB the whole cuff. That will make them last a long time

  11. I really like those socks and the bright colors. It was definitely a sock finish weekend for lots of my favorite bloggers. I seem to stick to the same kind of colors but try to shake it up once in awhile.
    Blessings,
    Betsy
