Oregon Trail was released in 1936 - more information about the film can be found here.

One of my favorite John Wayne films was the Cowboys, released in 1972.

What's your favorite movie, starring the Duke?

  1. Oh gosh, I don't have a favorite. In high school I dated a guy and we always had to be back at his house by 11:30 p.m. Saturday nights to watch a John Wayne movie...I would almost always fall asleep - lol.

  2. The Quiet Man, of course! John Wayne, Maureen O'Hara and Barry Fitzgerald.....doesn't get any better than that!

  6. I'm a fan, but not of some of his darker westerns. My favorite is actually Donovan's Reef. And Quiet Man too.

  9. I'd be hard pressed to choose a favorite John Wayne movie. We're big fans in this house. A few years back everyone received a DVD of "The Cowboys" in their stockings so they could all have their own copy since the kids no longer live at home.

  10. I enjoyed his movies but not favorites. I always liked to claim his as a fellow alumni of the University of Southern California.
