Favorite Mug

a favorite mug from the Oz Museum
This mug, purchased at the Oz Museum in Wamego, KS, makes me smile every time I use it. How I wish I had it while I was still teaching. I also like the shape of the mug and the handle: it's comfortable in my hand(s). I often wrap my hand around the cup and drink with the handle directly across from my nose.

Can you read the inscription? It says, "Don't make me break out my flying monkeys!"

The cute mug mat was a gift from Mary H., fiber guild president and coordinator of the Lander Sew Sistas.

Do you have a favorite mug or cup for drinking your morning tea or coffee? How do you hold your cup when drinking your morning brew?

  1. Oh yes, that's a good mug for a teacher. I don't have one particular favorite mug, but I do have a pretty good collection of handmade pottery mugs.

  5. I got a mug from the "apple pie place" in Julian, CA, just last summer; it's fun to have a reminder of a favorite place! Did you get to see the yellow brick road?

  7. I do have a couple of favorite coffee mugs - especially a Maxine cup that says "I'm a morning person, after 11:00 am". But the flying monkeys cup is even better! Today I'm drinking out of my SDSU Jackrabbit alumni cup. Go Jacks!

  8. I didn't know you were a teacher too. No wonder we have so much in common. I love your mug. I'll have to go get mine and find a clean place so I can take a picture. ;)

  12. I don't have a favourite mug but I have a favourite type. They must be bone china and not too big. I don't care for a two cup capacity mug. Funny, yes?

  13. My favorite mugs are usually quilting related. But I would really enjoy a red mug that threatens monkeys!
