Missouri Star Quilt Mural painted on the side of the Retreat Center Hamilton, MO August 2015
It was fun to see the large mural on the side of the Retreat Center. The quilt, shown above, features the signature block for the Missouri Star Quilt Company - the Missouri Star. A tutorial on how to make the block and the quilt can be found here.
Wow! That is a beautiful mural. It's interesting to see murals like these around the country. In Huron (about 50 miles from here) there is a large mural covering the side of a downtown building. I think it was painted to celebrate the centennial because it seems to celebrate the city's early years.
Beautiful! I love murals. There was a special segment on 60 Minutes I think about The Missouri Quilt Co and how it got started. Fun, recently another blogger visited there...sound like that family company has pretty much saved the town:)
