Fall Festival parade Misawa, Japan 1979 |
While some of the floats in the parade were pulled through the streets, this one was carried by several strapping young men who were, no doubt, well lubricated with sake by the end of the parade route. The platform they are carrying probably held ceremonial sake casks for the local shrine. (Note the circular containers on top of the platform.)
That looks heavy, even with that many men carrying the load!
ReplyDeleteI was thinking exactly the same thing as Tracy. They would need the sake in order to carry that float very far.
ReplyDeleteMany hands make a light load???? LOL
ReplyDeleteThey do look happy!
ReplyDeleteLove the socks and the sandals look
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing they enjoy this parade!
ReplyDeleteI bet the parades there were beautiful!
