Bruce and Becky M. Fremont County Fairgrounds approx. 1969 or 1970
While it was fun to see the steam tractor on display, I think it would be exciting to see it working in a field, powering a threshing machine. The 1912 Case tractor was built a year before my mother was born, and fifty-one years before Bruce was born.
Great picture!! I love watching American Pickers because they always find wonderful old tractors, cars, and equipment of all kinds. Somehow those old tractors looked like they could handle the jobs they were built to accomplish.
Up here in Rollag Minnesota they have a Steam Threshers Reunion every year, I have not been there but my husband has..it is best to go on a windy day! Uo North of the Park they have a Festival and have a Steam Parade..I find it very interesting:)

I love those old tractors...my mom was born in 1921, and dad in 1919.

ReplyDeleteI"ve never seen that kind of a Steam Tractor. It looks like a railroad engine to me
ReplyDeleteInteresting machine...I bet it was a real workhorse!
ReplyDeleteCan you imagine how loud it was???? No wonder so many of our grandparents were hard of hearing by age 60. LOL
ReplyDeleteI'm with Dee, I bet that was very loud. I love seeing old machines like this.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great photo! And like some of your other readers, I'd only want to see it in action from a nice distance.
