Ringing in the Season

Bell Choir
Trinity Lutheran Church
Riverton, WY
December 15, 2013
Twelve women played a variety of Christmas music prior to yesterday's service, and it was a lovely way to set the tone in the sanctuary.

Some of my favorite Christmas carols: Joy to the World, Silent Night, I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day, God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, but I could go on and on.

What's your favorite Christmas carol?

  1. When I was a kid, I always liked Jingle Bells and Rudolph.

  2. My favorite is I Heard The Bells on Christmas Day, and I absolutely love bell choirs. It's amazing how they can play different notes at different times and the music is perfect. It takes lots of practice, I'm sure. Happy Christmas!

  5. I would have loved this. I don't "get" into Christmas music until a week or so before Christmas

  6. Oh how great to have the bell choir playing in your sanctuary! I love listening to the soft and gentle carols played by a bell choir. My favorite carol? I really can't say I have a single favorite. There are so many tunes that, performed well, I absolutely love. I have sought out several arrangements of "The First Noel" for piano, voice, ukulele, and recorder, so it must be high on my list of favorites, probably because it has great harmonies.

  7. I think Carol of the Bells for traditional and Mary Did You Know for more modern.

    Your church is lovely inside.

  9. Wow! Look at your organ pipes! Your sanctuary is beautiful. I have a hard time identifying one favorite. My choir is learning a new to me piece that combines Pacabel's Canon along with The First Noel. It is beautiful with two lovely tunes together.

  12. I love the bells.

O Holy Night is my favorite and We Three Kings is probably second, but I also like most of the traditional carols.
