Standing Proud
Standing Proud 55 x 70 inches Quilt of Valor |
I purchased the eagle panel on my trip last May. Each eagle image is framed with fabric I had in my stash.
Both the deep red fabric in the center and the russet red in the upper right and lower left corners are from Marcus Fabrics' American Valor line. This fabric is sold in many quilt shops. I was disgusted that the fabric stretched and would not remain square no matter how much I tinkered with it. I will think twice before I purchase this brand of fabric again.
your QOV looks great! stretchy fabric and all the headaches. A service-person will love this quilt!
ReplyDeleteWell, I can't tell it's not square from the picture. You must have gotten it pretty close. Nice work.
ReplyDeleteSorry it was hard to work with but it did turn out great:)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilt! Sorry for the challenge though. Boo on the uncooperative fabric.
ReplyDeleteLooks great... but I know what it's like not to have fabric cooperate!!
ReplyDeleteIt sure looks good in the picture. What a lot of work you gals put into these Quilts of Valor! it's such a generous and compassionate project!! Well done!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilt Nancy!! I'd like to know if the photos of the eagles are printed on ordinary fabric or canvas or...what? They are so crisp and clear!
ReplyDeleteIt looks nice, but I imagine it was frustrating to have to fight the fabric.
ReplyDeleteWell I wouldnt have known it was giving you issues.
ReplyDeleteIt is still just beautiful !!! and the patriotism makes me so full hearted!
I'm sorry the fabric gave you fits. That's never any fun - takes the joy out of sewing. But the finished quilt is lovely. Some soldier will know that someone cared enough about them and their mission to do this. Thank you. g
ReplyDeleteWell, I think it turned out beautiful!
