Half Moon Lake Retreat
What can three sisters with two sewing machines create in one week in a semi-isolated, two-room cabin?
Priceless memories of massive millers (moth) attacks and their ultimate slaughter (believe me it was memorable), reconnecting and remembering childhood memories, and . . .
three unique Sunbonnet Sue quilt tops made from our mother's hand-appliqued, Sunbonnet Sue blocks.
I recommend going on a crafting retreat with your sister, your daughter, or your friend.

That sounds like so much fun. I've been needing a vacation, but can't get away. Maybe next month! Where is Half Moon Lake?
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful that you now each have a quilt of your mother's squares and lots of good memories to go with it!
ReplyDeleteYour mother would have been thrilled to see her blocks turn into such beautiful blankets. I'm glad you had a wonderful time with your sisters!

ReplyDeleteHow lucky you are to have sisters! What a fun thing to do!
ReplyDeleteTremendous work of sisters. The fact that you did it together is so sweet. Sisters have such a power when they work together! I have witnessed some very devoted and loving sisters in the intensive care environment. Their love is like a dance between them.
