Giant Jacks and Ball sculpture by Christopher Weed Douglas County Library Parker, CO |
I have fond memories of playing Jacks at recess and lunch during my elementary school years. The giant jacks and ball in front of the Parker Library triggered those memories.
Do you remember playing Jacks?
I still have my jacks!
ReplyDeleteYes I do! Loved to play jacks.
ReplyDeleteThat at school and marbles with my brother and cousin.
ReplyDeleteLoved to play--by myself for with friends!
ReplyDeleteYes I sure do have memories of playing jacks, and hopscotch. What a fun sculpture for a library!
ReplyDeleteTHose are cool!!!!
ReplyDeleteHoly cow! Those are BIG. I have a box of jacks. The Mister gave me them for Christmas the first one of the Pandemic. We gave each other something to play with. I used to love playing and I'm still pretty good.
ReplyDeleteI think thats my favorite of all the sculptures you've shown us. I loved playing jacks as a child. Do kids do that anymore or is it all electronics?
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Betsy
I remember playing jacks well. In 4th grade we had a native american student named Mary. She could beat everybody else hands down, we didn't have a chance.
ReplyDeleteI remember seeing jacks as a child, but I don't think I ever actually played with them
ReplyDeleteI loved playing jacks! My mom had played jacks and showed us how to play. But I really don't like the superballs that they put with the jacks now. I prefer the old red rubber balls, they didn't bounce away like the superballs do.
ReplyDeleteGuess that game never made it here to my part of the world as I have no idea what Jack's are/do.
ReplyDeleteI loved playing jacks especially since I was better at it than my baby brother!
ReplyDeleteYou knew it was spring when the jacks and marbles came out! We had tournaments too. Picking up one to ten jacks in double bounce, no bounce, crack the egg, over the fence, eggs in the basket
ReplyDeleteI remember playing it some but not a whole lot. I do like the sculpture of them though. Very fun. I wonder if kids ever play jacks these days?
