The Word Is Out
Have you received the vaccine yet?
Appointments are being made here for individuals over 75, and
supposedly next week those over 70 can make appointments.
I don’t anticipate being eligible for an appointment
until late February or early March.
Hopefully, the virus’ grip on the world can be
under control by late summer.
Unless supplies increase I don't expect to be eligible until March or April either. I'm in the 65-70 range. Over 80 or currently undergoing chemo or dialysis - those are the appointments being made now. I have a friend with several health issues who has an appointment for next week but her doctors are still concerned that for her the vaccine may interact badly with some of her other medications.
ReplyDeleteNot yet. Hope you get yours soon:)
ReplyDeleteWe will be among the last to get them (that's ok, others need them more), and it was originally slated to be start of summer, but there have been huge delays and shortages, so now I'm guess it will be late summer at the earliest.
ReplyDeleteAnd I know so many people who say they won't get it... I really wonder if we will get enough for herd immunity.
I'm still not eligible, even with my medical conditions and I can't seem to get Dennis an appt. anywhere either. Same old story. Not enough vaccines. And so many people say they won't get it...even medical people here. That does make you wonder, but my hope and prayer it that is does work with NO long term problmes, which seems to be the worry since there have been no long term studies. I guess at some point you have to have trust, don't you?
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Betsy
We pre-registered with the health department here but they say to expect a few months delay. Our grocery stores are now taking appointments for it but I don't want the jab in a retail location. I have terrible allergies so I want one in a medical setting if possible. The Mister says he doesn't care where he gets it so I might go ahead and look for a retail setting for him.
ReplyDeleteWe are registered and it cannot happen soon enough!
ReplyDeleteLucky me. I live in one of 10 states that prohibits teachers from getting the vaccine. I live in fear of being called back!
ReplyDeleteOur county is doing well getting people in for the vaccine in a timely manner and with a sufficient supply. I am not a candidate for the vaccination since I have adverse reactions to the flu shots.
ReplyDeleteEuphoria here. I had my first shot yesterday. 4 weeks later I get the second. Our state or perhaps our county has a great system to get people in line for shots. I filled out a form showing I wanted the vaccine. A week or so later I got a response saying I was on the waiting list and would get an email with a link to make an appointment. Hubby and I thought maybe beginning of March but the emails came way earlier than expected. And we could make appts next day for me and the following for him. Surprisingly we got two different vaccines. The whole event at the hospital was like clockwork in and out pretty quickly. I sure hope other areas can resolve the issues and get going on getting shot in arms.
ReplyDeleteNancy. I would think you could get one sooner! Happy for all those who have. interesting that bonnie and her husband got two different vaccines at the same facility!
ReplyDeleteWe got our first shots at the end of January, and will get #2 at the end of Feb if they still have vaccine. So now you know how old I am!
ReplyDeleteHi Nancy you have been quiet for a few days...hope you are okay! I am supposed to get my first shot on Feb 16 we will see:)
