January
painted by Jon Madsen

I'm not a fan of Winter cold, but I love the beauty and silence of Winter. This painting was on display at the Eppson Center for Seniors in December, and I admired it every time I entered the dining room. In my opinion, the artist captured the winter light perfectly. I'd love to purchase the piece but settled for a photograph.
Today's ponderable . . .

A good ponderable! And a lovely picture. I, too, love the beauty and silence (particularly the silence) of winter.
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with you - I like the snow but not the cold. I love those snowy days where it's hovering right around freezing. A couple of layers and you're good to enjoy the beauty!
ReplyDeleteThat’s sort of what it looks like here today. An interesting ponderable.. I’ll have to think on that one. :-)
ReplyDeleteBlessings,

No snow here at least now, but I remember snowy days well having grown up in Milwaukee, WI. Snow is pretty when it's new, but I don't like when it turns into dirty piles. We've been very spoiled by our moderate winters, but I do get tired of the persistently gray skies. And very happy when they finally turn blue!
ReplyDeleteThat painting is just beautiful. I love snow-not to shovel of course but to look out the window at.
ReplyDeleteI love the painting! It’s beautiful. Hugs,
ReplyDeleteJust yesterday we were comparing the snow drifts to waves on an ocean...similar but colder. Yes indeed where does the white go:)
ReplyDeleteGood question. We've had snow on the ground for about 10 days or so which is unheard of here for the most part. We don't usually have 10 days of cold weather in a row. Yesterday's rain probably melted the piles of snow that had lingered.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great painting! Yup, a winter view can be breath-taking.
ReplyDeleteI want that painting! I love winter, and that captures the beauty of snow. Thanks for sharing.
