It's That Time of Year

I know the new tax law will affect deductions, so much of what I track may not be needed this year. Have you started working on your Federal Income Taxes?

Like you, I keep an excel file for expenditures. And, I have a file folder for documents that need to go to the accountant (they have started to come in). I just called the other day and scheduled our appointment for February.
ReplyDeleteI am scared to death at what the new taxes will bring. I live on SS and a teacher's pension and I have the bare minimum taken out. For the past few years I've had to pay in and boy...after years of getting a refund that HURTS.
ReplyDeleteBlessings.
ReplyDeleteI keep all the receipts in a file, and have started to complete our Turbo Tax. Waiting for bank info and our job stuff.
ReplyDeleteThis year the deduction are
ReplyDeleteS - $12,000
HOH - $18,000
MFJ - $24,000
Add - $1,300 over 65 or blind.
I did the same thing last week, but I do it all by hand! No Excel files, I just have paper files that I go through in January. We are playing the same waiting game... waiting for bank info, mutual funds, etc. Then off to the accountant it will go. Blessings, Betsy
ReplyDeleteI have a file folder made...that is as far as I made it so far! You go gal!
ReplyDeleteI've done a bit of searching for business expenses but Pat does the heavy lifting on taxes. I used to do it for years but he's a better organizer of that type of info then I am. Hence, I'm searching for my business expenses receipts!
ReplyDeleteI'm like you-I am organizing the paperwork-we still have one form we are waiting for to arrive; I hope to file sooner than last year (which was April 13th!!!)
