Yarn with a 'Tude

published in local paper April 2, 2015
I always knew that yarn could develop an attitude. . .

Have you worked some surly yarn lately?

  1. No surly yarn in my life. LOL But I did see this cartoon and thought of all of the knitters in my circle of family and friends.

  2. Indeed I do. I bought a ton of yarn for some project I can't remember and now I don't like it at all. I have tried to make many different things out of it to use it up and they all get ripped out. I also bought a bag of yarn at Savers and although I like it....it is cut and frayed..think it is going to the dumpster. I could go on and on and maybe I just need to purge my yarn stash of everything I don't like and then use up what I do like.

  3. Ha. I saw this in the paper too, and got a good chuckle. I don't often have yarn with attitude. But if it breaks easily or splits too easily...that's a problem!

  4. I can really relate to this cartoon. Most of my problem yarns have come from local yarn producers who leave a lot of debris in their wool.
    Talk about itchy!

  5. Oh my! Does it count if you're running out of yarn and the LYS is all out of it? Splitty yarn. It irritates me. I kept knitting through the strands and having to back it out through the strands. ugh.

  6. Funny cartoon and so true! My stash gets surly due to inactivity. I'm afraid to stick my hand into the cabinet--I might be bitten.

  7. That crappy yarn with the fur balls has been frogged about ten times, I am just not happy with the scarf...I only have a try or two in me before it goes in the trash:(

  10. Oh yeah .......I had a skein of yarn turn itself into a tangle of knots while it was sitting still. Hateful stuff I tell you!

  11. Like Dee, I had a terrible ball of yarn that I tried to wind. It ended up in several balls and I don't think I'll ever use it.
