Spring Shadows

Central Wyoming College
March 28, 2015
Saturday, I took a brief walk around the CWC campus during the lunch break at the Quilt of Valor Sew-in. The trees' shadows created a spider web on the sidewalk near the Fine Arts building.

The community college campus has changed dramatically since I first attended in 1969-70. Then the college consisted of three buildings (administration/library/student center, the classroom building, and a maintenance building) as well as a water tower on a large wind-swept field. All the original structures are still part of the campus; however the buildings have been remodeled and enlarged several times. CWC is a thriving institution which makes me very happy.

  1. My husband and I are proud graduates of EWC, '80. The junior college system in Wyo is truly wonderful for each of the communities that they serve. I'm so glad to hear they are still thriving. I cherish my memories of the time I spent on EWC's campus.

  2. I forget how much later spring happens in your area and seeing the bare trees surprised me:) Bet it is a pretty walk when they are all green.

  3. It's good to know that the small colleges are still thriving. I went to SDSU and still love to walk that campus too. The campus has grown a lot in the past 40 years but it's still a trip down memory lane.

  6. The tree branches look a little spooky.

Nancy: I have a friend that would like to get a Quilt of Valor for her Army son. How would she go about applying for one?

  7. That's a good shot - you have a good eye for seeing the details. Its good to hear that a small community college is thriving and that people are taking advantage of the opportunities available. Both of our children took classes at our local college while we homeschooled and the quality of instruction and professors was impressive.
