Binding Distractions

Last week, four Quilts of Valor (Wild and Free, Old Glory, American Valor, and Uncommon Valor) were returned by two volunteer machine quilters and needed to be bound. While I worked, I listened to audio books (The 9th Girl by Tami Hoag and Gray Mountain by John Grisham).

What do you like to listen to or watch while crafting?

  1. I don't watch much TV so I try to listen/watch while crafting. My favorite program for this is The Chew because I can generally tell what is going on without glancing up to watch--a lot.

  2. If the piecing is easy or repetitive I'll binge watch an involved TV series on Hulu Plus or listen to a thriller on Audible.com. If I have to pay close attention to the piecing, I'll listen to classical or 60's rock. Sometimes I pick the project based on what I want to watch or listen to :-).

  3. I watch TV that doesn't require me to watch the picture constantly. Seems like most of the projects I've been working on this year require concentration, and when that's the case, I can't have anything else going on.

  4. I have only been watching t.v. with my knitting lately. I think it's only because I have a hard time working audio books lately on my iPhone.

I am one of those, I like to knit with sports ladies.

One of my favorite series that is on our cable on demand for free is Band of Brothers. Sometimes I need some tissues, but I really, really love that series.

  5. I love to listen to audio books. I love books in general, but sometimes, it's just hard for me to find the time to read. I listen to audio books on my commute and when I am at work. The library has a nice app where I download them to my phone, or I pick up a series from the library on occasion.

  6. I watch recorded TV or Netflix, we have the TV situated That I can see it from my desk, my computer and the dining room table...so I am set! :)

  7. Not much of a TV watcher with exception of local and national news and Jeopardy! Sometimes I'm knitting, cross stitching or sewing down binding with those. But I might be playing solitaire on my iPad. What I found out just last night, I can knit on the sweater I'm currently knitting and read a book on my iPad! Oh my! I'm sure if I were doing anything besides a basic stitch it wouldn't work out but just doing a sleeve and increasing -- I can do both! Amazing.
