We had supper with the older daughter and her family, watched her kids open some Christmas gifts since they had influenza over Christmas. We were home again by 9:00. Had a glass of wine and was asleep by 11:00. It was pretty low key.
I was in bed right before the ball dropped and came out just in time to see it. Then I was to awake to got back to bed so I ended up doing a few rows on the scarf I'm working on. Gosh, it feels like I've been doing it forever. 72 inches is a long way to go. Right now I'm at 53 inches. At least I have become proficient in my knit stitch..lol.
Marti, I am actually teaching myself to knit right now.I think if you practice it will become easier as time goes by.
Drinking a little wine while knitting? Did you have to check your stitches the next day??? Just kidding. Sounds like a very relaxing way to finish up the year. My evening was very low key too. A warm fire, knitting needles, and TV.
Um, champagne... split a bottle between us! kathy and Anderson Cooper kept us laughing. Knitting. I was knitting my cowl. A big fire in the fireplace. Cats on my lap. Hubby in the lazy boy beside me... wonderful end to 2104
I have to say that your way of celebrating is a lot more fun than mine. I went to bed early and didn't even have a glass of wine. I have to do better next year!
Happy New Year, Nancy! I love how you rang in the New Year! Mine was very similar, except I had to work during the day. I did not make it anywhere close to midnight I tell you! I love those kinds of evenings, new years eve or not!

ReplyDeleteGlad you had a relaxing evening too.
That's how I would have liked to finish out the year. I'm afraid we were pretty boring and did the same old thing we do every night.
ReplyDeleteI wish I knew someone who knits like you to show me how. I love your socks.
