Presentation Cases

I didn't do much over the weekend; however, I did make presentation cases for four Quilts of Valor. The Tube/Sausage Pillowcase technique makes a nice case with no exposed seams if a French seam is used for the side and bottom. I like the French seam because it gives the case a nice finish. Written directions for the case are available here.

These four cases were made from the last bits of the striped and "America" fabrics, and the contrasting trim is binding remnants from previous quilts.

Larger pieces of the striped fabric were used as a backing for Controlled Spin and as binding for Ribbons of Valor.

  3. I do like this pillow case technique. It is such a nice finish. I used to wonder why people used good quilting fabric to make these, and now I know. When I find something on sale that will make a good pillow case I snap up several yards of it!
