Street vendor
Autumn Festival
Misawa, Japan
August 1979 |
Carts like the one in the photo were common in Misawa. This one offered a selection of
sweet-bean paste cones to the crowd gathered for the festival parade. The vendors also sold flowers door to door from the carts.
Bean paste doesn't really sound tasty to my ear, but I'm sure it is a delicious treat.
ReplyDeleteBean paste cones. Hmmm... The one little seems to be enjoying it, so I'll try to keep an open mind!
ReplyDeleteI just saw bean paste in the dessert basket on "Chopped", and thought that was really strange. It is amazing what different cultures can do with food items we think don't fit into our ordinary eating list.
ReplyDeleteI have no idea...is a bean paste cone like an ice cream cone?
ReplyDeleteOkay Nancy who is the little red headed girl in the image of Japanese???
