Foreign Friday
While many fairs in the United States pride themselves on offering "food on a stick," I doubt any serve this delicacy -- octopus.
I tried many Japanese foods, but I drew the line at eating a tiny, whole octopus. However, I did (and still do) enjoy dried cuttlefish.
Besides the octopus, street vendors sold yakitori and bags of roasted chestnuts. Both were very tasty.
EEEWWWWW! I'm with you... no whole octopus for me, either. Now the other things... that would be worth a try!
ReplyDeleteI am going to be the oddball here and say they are actually pretty good. LOL
ReplyDeleteI can remember trying 'mystery' meat on a stick! hahah but I passed on the octopus.
ReplyDeleteI guess squid...octopus...same sorta thing?...Although I can't bring myself to eat oysters...
ReplyDeleteDH and I watched the chefs on Chopped try to figure out what to do with octopus. We both said, "Not for me, thank you!" I have eaten chocolate covered crickets, and they were okay. Of course, I might eat octopus if they covered it in chocolate.
ReplyDeleteI think I could do the chestnuts, but EEEEEEEEEWWWWWWWWW on the other. I don't even like normal fish things. You're far braver then I would be.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I could get past the look of them, even if they taste delicious.
