Carol's Fall Tree
Carol's Fall Tree
August block
This is the eighth monthly block as well as the fourth and final tree block for the Quilter's Neighborhood. The next four blocks are supposed to be flowers of the season. I'll get the first one in a few days.
I am disappointed with the sky and how the clouds on the right side are not going the same direction as those on the left, but the block kit did not include enough sky fabric. I can't complain too much: the block was free.
I like the colours in this block...and we are getting those colours coming now on our trees!
ReplyDeleteVery seasonal! We're still (wet and) green here, but in another month, the leaves will look like that...
ReplyDeleteToo bad about the sky. It will look fine in the quilt with the other blocks, but it's a shame that more thought wasn't put into the amount of fabric needed.
ReplyDeleteCome on down, Fall!!! After our rediculous summer I am so ready for it, and we have had a good taste of it this week. The low temp this morning was 55. WONDERFUL!! The temps will be back in the upper 90s next week, but if we can just stay out of the 100s I will be so happy!
ReplyDeleteLove your fall block. Yes, the sky thing is disappointing... those details bug me, too. But in the whole quilt, once quilted it probably won't be noticed. HEY!! This is one "issue" you really CAN blame on someone else!! How often do we truthfully get to do that?
Just say it is a Texas sky. We have vertical and horizontal clouds at the same time a lot. TORNADO!!
ReplyDeleteIt's a beautiful quilt!
