White Knuckles

In the 1970s when I was in college, Interstate 80 was the fastest route home for the holidays. It was a four-hour drive home in clear weather and dry roads. Of course, in those days, web cameras did not exist. I don't know how many times, I drove the entire way home with white knuckles. I was silly not to wait for better conditions.

Today, thanks to technology, we can see just how terrible the driving conditions are on that stretch of I-80. You can see these and other web cams on the WYDOT site.

I'm glad that I am not "white-knuckling" today.

  4. I was so proud of myself for driving on Wednesday during our big snow - normally I wouldn't go out but Chesty had a post-op appt. Luckily, it wasn't this bad! They're calling for another 2-4 inches today but with nowhere I need to be I'm looking forward to it.
