Off the Needles - Finally!

October 2022

I can't believe it took me so long to finish this pair of socks!

Cast on -- July 2022

First sock finished --  August 2022

Second sock finished -- October 2022

I've decided to take a long break from sock knitting.

  1. I've taken a break from knitting socks too. I have only two skeins of sock yarn (yay!) left in the stash. To use up the massive amount of acrylic yarn, I am currently crocheting blankets for Project Linus.

  3. They look very cozy! I have a couple of pair of hand knit socks that my cousin gifted to me. I wear them around the house for warmth. But both pairs are too thick to wear comfortably with shoes. Your socks always look so soft and comfy.

  4. Woo hoo! It does feel good when you get those annoying ones off the needles. It's not their fault really but some projects just end up being a slog. I'm on a sock break now too. I just spent a few minutes this morning hand washing some of my handknit socks to get them ready if we ever get cold weather so I know how much I love them. It's just that I really don't want to make anymore right now. 75 pairs should to be enough, right?...lol.

  6. I am taking forever, too. Too many other distractions! These socks are beauties, though!

  7. How are you feeling? I've been awol from blogland for awhile because of, well, life. Hopefully I'm back now? The socks are beautiful but I know what you mean about some taking longer than others. I just discovered that I still have one more pair to make for a Christmas gift. I usually have them as my take along project. Take care and I hope you are much better by now.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  9. I forget what yarn you used. Were these small balls of different yarn put together? Wild that there is a hot pink section and an electric blue section. So what's going to be your hand work go to for a while?

  10. Some projects just take longer than others. These look nice and cozy for a Wyoming winter. I have one more sock to finish and then I am taking a sock knitting break also.

  11. You've made so many socks, sometimes you just need a break.
