Sashing and Visiting
blocks ready to be sashed May 2022 |
During Sunday's FaceTime call, I sewed the sashing on the star/flag blocks, I made last week. Thank you for your sashing suggestions. I auditioned red sashing and thought there was already too much red in the blocks (the flag stripes and half of the star points). I also auditioned red frames for the blue stars and blue frames for the red stars, but it didn't quite work, so I settled on blue.
My sister and brother-in-law joined the FaceTime call on their way back from Texas. They were traveling somewhere in Oklahoma, Brenda was in Denver, and I am in Laramie. A three state FaceTime call - technology is amazing!
Very pretty. And, yes, technology is amazing - nice that you could all gather together...at least virtually.
ReplyDeleteI think that is so cool for you to 'visit' like that! And nice that you get quilting done, too!
ReplyDeleteNice blocks and the blue sashing is great! I am SO grateful for technology. We have face-timed with our kids every day since we got home. We want to make sure our new grandbaby knows her American grandparents too! I think covid made most people a lot more comfortable with technology and boy, we're sure grateful for it.
ReplyDeleteBlessings and hugs,
Betsy
I like the blue sashing - I think that's the perfect choice!
ReplyDeleteWhat fun to be able to Facetime with everyone even while they travel. I think this blue sashing looks like a perfect choice. Sometimes red just takes over, doesn't it?
ReplyDeleteI’m looking forward to seeing the finished top. I’ve been Zooming with 4 friends for several years now. We all belonged to a guild in Maryland. And we’ve all moved to different states. Hopefully we’ll all be in MD for our guild’s quilt show.
ReplyDeleteTechnology is amazing until it isn't. My son gifted me an ipad for Mother's Day and I managed to get myself locked out of it. I bought a laptop to try to restore it and I am sitting it feeling like an idiot because I still can't get it unlocked.
ReplyDeleteNice work!
ReplyDeleteLooking good Nancy!
