Seams Galore
October 2020 |
The Pinwheel Puzzle quilt has many seams to match, to sew over, and to press. I tend to use a lot of pins when dealing with multiple seams or a long seam. I think it's a throwback to the days I made clothing.
All the blocks are sewn together, and this week I will be adding borders - a thin one and a wide, outer border. I ordered the outer border fabric on Etsy, and it arrived on Saturday.
I tend to pin a lot and I agree I think it's because I made clothing as well. I like your new blog look.
ReplyDeleteYes, I hardly use any pins in my quilting until it comes to matching seams! Can't wait to see them together!
ReplyDeleteWhat cool pins you have!!
ReplyDeleteLike you, I like to use pins to match seams. Also, when I'm adding an outer border, pinning helps me make sure all of that length is evenly distributed. You're probably right about the pinning habit coming from learning to make garments.
ReplyDeleteBTW - love the new look of your blog!!
I really should pin more, but I'm always too lazy
ReplyDeleteI had to enlarge the photo to see the pins. I thought that was a little dish of candies! I think I need to eat my breakfast soon!
ReplyDeleteThat is a LOT of pins. Your patience much be epic.
Blessings,
Betsy
Wow, that is so many seams. And you match up all the corners. Amazing!
ReplyDeleteSo many seams, so many pins. This will be gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a challenge to me! Hope you are warm and cozy:)
ReplyDeleteSo that's how you get everything so perfect!
ReplyDeleteIt is going to be terrific!
ReplyDeleteYou are amazing Nancy. I hemmed a pair of cotton linen pants yesterday. Im too cheap to use the seamstress. I'm not a sewer but it'll do. YOUR red choice of fabric I love
ReplyDeleteYour are making good progress. I’m looking forward to the finish. Do you have some favorite online fabric sources?
