Braided Dreams

Braid in a Day
Eleanor Burns
I am always looking for patterns that will help me bring my ever-growing pile of fabric scraps under control. This Eleanor Burns' Quilt in a Day pattern fit the bill perfectly. I was surprised just how quickly the quilt came together: I definitely could have completed this flimsy in one day, but I life sometimes gets in the way, so it was finished in two days. The only change I made in the pattern a wider border to meet the QOV size requirements.

You may ask if my scraps are now under control, and my response is, "In your dreams!"

  4. Very pretty! I love these braid quilts and made one for my niece's wedding a couple of years ago. I used a different pattern however, and the directions were not as easy as Eleanor Burns' pattern. She is a genius at simplifying patterns isn't she? Great idea to add those wide borders.

  10. When you can sew a quilt in two days I predict that scrap control is achievable. That is amazing and it is so pretty too! Great job.
