Monster Mania
The only thing to do when the scrap sock yarn begins accumulating is to knit some monster socks. Of course the socks won't be duplicates because I am using scraps, but I hope to have enough of the dark blue for the pair.
I am using this pattern for the stripe arrangement; however, be aware that the pattern may have a typo in the heel-turn directions. After knitting and frogging, I used my tried and true rib-cuffed pattern for the heel-turn.
I use my left over sock yarn to knit squares like this one. I will then combine them into an afghan or two or three. Maybe I need to do what you are doing also, because I STILL have little balls of yarn left after making the squares.
ReplyDeleteI especially love the corrugated rib.
ReplyDeleteOnly you could make a masterpiece form a bowl of scraps:)
ReplyDeleteNifty sock. --- I like the ribs. I'll have to visit that site. (honestly, do I need anything else to do???) I'm on the sole of current set of sox. Love all the colors. Is that bigger yarn, rather than thin? Always curious. B.
ReplyDeleteI love these! That is exactly what I need to do with the dozen or so different left-overs I have! Thanks for sharing. Now please tell me... what do you do about all the loose thread tails? Do you work over them as you go or do you bury them later?
ReplyDeleteMe too, I love this! The ribbing is awesome! I plan to make some great socks too with my leftovers but I'm a little afraid of joining the colors.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see how they turn out!
I love using up leftover yarn...that looks like the perfect pattern to do so...can't wait to see them finished :)
ReplyDeleteI love your ribbed cuff like everyone else...must try it....
