Using Strings and Strips
String and strip sets ready for future projects April 2015 |
My "string bin" is now empty. I don't have a specific plan for these string and strip sets, but they might become a border on a future Quilt of Valor. Note: information about strings and string quilts can be found here.
Thanks, Bonnie for the motivation.
Awe, your welcome. I wish I could say I was getting as much done as I am promoting what to do! I'll be posting something this evening if all goes as planned.
ReplyDeleteYour strips are nice and straight too. Have you got a trick for that? At our last guild meeting, the speaker said she made string strips as her leaders and enders, so when a scrappy quilt was finished, she had the piano key border done already. And then she pulled out a huge roll of it, dropped it, and let it roll across the stage.
ReplyDeleteGreat challenge idea! And you are going to be so excited when just the right QOV pops up needing those borders - and they are all ready to go. I need to get motivated to organize myself. I had lots of time last night but chose to curl up with a good mystery book instead.
ReplyDeleteI agree with the other gals, that it will be nice to have these ready to go when the right quilt comes along.
ReplyDeleteThey look so straight and tidy! :-)
ReplyDeleteGreat colors for quilt borders! I wish I have the courage to try organizing my yarn stash. It is a daunting task!!
ReplyDeleteOnce I get going, I keep going with clutter. I stop when I have big bags to deliver to somewhere to donate. Love what you've done with the fabric strips Nancy
ReplyDeleteThese look great! Everyone is getting organized but here you are, organized and productive and crafty! sheesh!
ReplyDeletePretty looking strips! I read the stuff about strings...but being a non sewer the part about the muslin back just confused me:)
ReplyDeleteYou've got lots of pretty borders-in-waiting, Nancy. Knowing you, they'll soon be QOVs.
ReplyDeleteBonnie is a great motivator.
