Braid in a Day Eleanor Burns |
I am always looking for patterns that will help me bring my ever-growing pile of fabric scraps under control. This Eleanor Burns' Quilt in a Day pattern fit the bill perfectly. I was surprised just how quickly the quilt came together: I definitely could have completed this flimsy in one day, but I life sometimes gets in the way, so it was finished in two days. The only change I made in the pattern a wider border to meet the QOV size requirements.

You may ask if my scraps are now under control, and my response is, "In your dreams!"
Very pretty. It reminds me of a stained glass window.
ReplyDeleteCan't imagine that it came together that fast and look that good:)
ReplyDeleteThat is one of my favorite quilts that you have done. Very pretty!!!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! I love these braid quilts and made one for my niece's wedding a couple of years ago. I used a different pattern however, and the directions were not as easy as Eleanor Burns' pattern. She is a genius at simplifying patterns isn't she? Great idea to add those wide borders.
ReplyDeletewhat a beauty of a finish. I'd make 3 more! And I have to laugh the Patterns in Knitting that say 4 hour, always take me 8!
ReplyDeleteThat's very pretty. I like the way the colors are framed in the brown fabrics.
ReplyDeleteReal quilters always have a stash and scraps:)
ReplyDeleteOh, that is so attractive!! Love it.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! Even two days would be extremely fast for me!
ReplyDeleteWhen you can sew a quilt in two days I predict that scrap control is achievable. That is amazing and it is so pretty too! Great job.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Chevrons are en vogue right now, you know...
ReplyDeletethis is an incredible quilt top. I love it. Glad to see you sewing again. g
