Holiday Fun

I loved writing my name with sparklers when I was young. My Mom would purchase a package of sparklers, a package of firecrackers, and possibly some black snakes nearly every year. The firecrackers worked great for launching a soup can into the air.

What fireworks do you remember from your childhood?

Have a safe and happy Independence Day.

  1. I remember those little things that turned into long worms on the sidewalk. I can't remember what they were called but I still remember how they smelled when you lit them. I thought they were so cool because they were the only ones we could light ourselves since they didn't explode.

  5. Sparklers at home, but then we attended the big town fireworks display at dark put on by the local volunteer fire department. My dad was a member and always helped set it up and light them off. I love those big fireworks displays to this day.

  6. We lived in a neighborhood where we had a great barbecue(dogs and burgers) and then we’d have some sparkler fun. It ended with adults down the backyard setting off some big ones. It was always fun with 10 or 15 families participating.
