Snowflake socks
women's size 9
February 2018 |
Last week was bitter cold (daily highs were in the single digits with subzero windchill), so I hunkered down and did a lot of knitting and sewing. This pair of socks was finished in two days - a record for me - as I listened to
A Man Named Ove by Fredrik Backman. If you haven't read the book, I highly recommend it. You will laugh out loud at some of Ove's observations and actions, and shed a tear or two as well.
Yarn: REGIA - Snowflake Color (#07708 - Ski Cap)
75% superwash wool 25% polyamid
Needles: US size 2
This yarn was a delight to knit, and I wish I had purchased another skein in a different color.
Love the colors and will check out the book.
ReplyDeleteIt was cold here too, and now that snow is melting. But we expect more snow on Monday. I'm ready for spring!
ReplyDeleteI loved that book.
ReplyDeleteThe socks turned out pretty great too.
Congrats on a great sock Finish Nancy. Winter here helps me knit at a faster rate than the other seasons! Thank goodness for my knitting. I LOVE the colors of the sock. Nice!
ReplyDeleteNice socks! We're expecting another dumping of snow today. I'm hoping it will be the last for the year, but probably not!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the socks - they are great! Ove was my favorite book of last year. The movie is pretty good too (from someone who is not really a "movie person").
ReplyDeleteYour new sockslook so nice and warm!
ReplyDeleteI love Regia. That is a great colorway that I haven't seen before. Ove was a great listen. I've yet to come across another book I liked so much.
ReplyDeleteTwo days! That’s great! Dennis’ socks are taking me forever because I only work on them away from home. I may have to break that rule and start knitting on them here too.
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Betsy
Two days wow! Yes we loved A Man called Ove...we listened to it also:)
ReplyDeleteBrrr...I hope you are thawing out! It looks as though you are making good use of your hunkering down time...those socks are just lovely! And I second your recommendation of "A Man called Ove"...I loved it.
ReplyDeleteGreat colorway! I love Regia sock yarn.
ReplyDeleteI do need to read or listen to that book. Everyone loves it. I listened to Beartown, by the same author, and it is very good.
ReplyDeleteI love the socks! We got that book as a gift and tho Jim has read it, I have not yet.
ReplyDeleteGreat knit socks and in record time, too! Nice way to turn nasty weather into something much more pleasant!
