mini quilts display
Kansas Troubles shop
Bennington, KS
August 2015 |
Marilyn and I love the colors of Kansas Troubles fabric, so a stop at the Kansas Troubles shop was necessary. Bennington, KS is just east of Lucas where we toured the
Garden of Eden and marveled at the
artsy public toilets; however, we had to take a detour back to I-70 since a bridge was being repaired on the secondary highway we intended to travel.
The shop had numerous quilts on display and bolts and bolts of the luscious KT fabric.

Robert Hagmeire worked the cutting table and register |
Lynne Hagmeire has been developing quilt patterns and fabric for years. She was not in the shop the day were were there, but her husband Robert measured and cut fabric for us.

Who would think that all that beautiful fabric would be inside this humble store and in such a tiny town?
A perfect stop for you:)
ReplyDeleteThose colors are so warm and rich - and perfect for QOV as well.
ReplyDeleteWhat a hidden treasure!
ReplyDeleteI could spend a lot of money in that shop!
ReplyDeleteLooks like they a wonderful selection of pretty fabrics. It does seem unusual to find a shop like that in a small town. I had a similar experience with a yarn shop in Gove, Kansas, population barely over 100, but the shop was full of quality yarn.
ReplyDeleteSo much fabric in that little shop!! Wow. It sure is a cute place.
ReplyDeleteLove these kind of shops that are just stuffed with goodies!
ReplyDeleteLooks like it was great fun for you girls!
You made my day Nancy! Thanks for the tour of the Kansas Troubles shop, the Garden of Eden and the wonderful artsy restrooms. I think I need to be traveling with you because my vacations are never that much fun!
ReplyDeleteI love all the darker colors they use in the quilts! Awesome shop! :)
ReplyDeleteSo Cool! Have you seen Jordy Nelson's commercial about Wisconsin? Google it .....it is adorable
ReplyDeleteLooks like a wonderfully stocked shop. Glad you had a good time there. :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm drooling at all that beautiful fabric in that cute shop.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great find! Small towns have some of the best things. I had to check the location in Kansas on a map, because on our trip to Red Cloud, Nebraska, we came back through Kansas and had to take a detour because a bridge was out. Different part of the state, however. Thanks so much for stopping by my blog. You have a lovely blog, full of beautiful and creative things. I look forward to checking in again soon.
ReplyDeleteWow! What a magical place! I'm so glad you got to go!
ReplyDeleteGreat shop. There's a tiny town in northeast Oregon called Prairie City. Hardly any shops downtown, but they do have a fabulous quilt shop much like the one you shared here.
