Rugged Beauty
"Beauty" may not be the right word, but I am drawn to the unique textures of nature.
Perhaps it was the light playing off of this tree's bark that initially drew me to the tree.
As I neared, I saw even more of the texture, and yes, the beauty of its gnarled and scraggly surface.

Do you find beauty in such unlikely objects?
Yes I do, and it's exactly the kind of thing I like to photograph. My son has been interested in photography too and started a blog with a photograph/day. He's aiming for a full year. Of course, he's found he takes a bunch of photos to get just the right one to post.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely I do! Gorgeous, all the twists and gnarls...love it!
ReplyDeleteCool tree. Rugged beauty is a perfect description.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely - I can't get past a fence, shadows, the floor on the deck, a pile of rocks, a gnarly tree trunk etc. I even have a gnarly tree piece on my wall, hanging as art. 8-))) Nature does it best.
