Granting Sue’s Wish
two bowl cozies December 2022 |
Two friends came over on Monday, and we worked on a puzzle for a few hours. Pat commented on the bowl cozies I have next to the microwave and said she bought two at a recent holiday bazaar. Sue said, “I wish I had some.”
I decided to make a set for Sue and her husband. It didn’t take long yesterday to sew the cozies, and I’ll give them to her this afternoon at dominoes.
Once in a while, wishes should come true!
How sweet is that.....
ReplyDeleteVery nice. These are such good gifts. Our guild makes these for a local fund raiser every year. The high school art department hosts The Empty Bowl - making ceramic soup bowls to sell at a soup luncheon that's open to the public. We donate the bowl cozies, and those are sold along with bowls of soup. The buyer gets to keep the bowl and cozy. The money goes to the local food pantry. We donated 103 of them this fall.
ReplyDeleteThat was so nice of you. I've been looking for bowl cozies at the bazaars I've attended this year with no luck. I should see if there's a pattern online. Do you have one to recommend?
ReplyDeleteBlessings and hugs,
Betsy
That's the best part about sewing/quilting/knitting--You can do it! Very nice surprise for Sue!
ReplyDeleteHow generous! They must come in very handy when you are eating out of your lap-which I am guilty of especially at night in front of the TV when everyone else is asleep.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely surprise for your friend!
ReplyDeleteSo sweet! Bowl cozies are great! I need to make some more!
ReplyDeleteI'll bet she loved them! Great choice of fabric/colors, too! Happy almost New Year!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet little love present. The gifts made by hand are the best.
ReplyDeleteYou are such a good friend!! Happy New Year!
