An Unusual Scene

Laramie, WY
March 6, 2022

On Friday, the ground was bare thanks to Chinook winds and warmer temperatures last week; however, Friday night and most of the day Saturday, the snow fell. What's unusual about this scene is the snow on the tree boughs and the lilac bush branches. The winter wind blows a LOT in Laramie, and typically, the trees shake off their snow coverings. I love seeing this unusual winter scene outside my patio doors.

  1. I do not envy your snow. We had a nice warm day yesterday and it melted all of ours. Weather is cool again, but it's supposed to stay above freezing. I'd like to think we are past the snow for the year, but I know we'll probably get more.

  2. Snow on trees is beautiful, no doubt. However the snowstorm we had 1/3 devastated the beautiful trees on the parkway outside our community. I haven’t counted but I be we lost 50 trees. And many were beautiful flowering trees during the spring. Hopefully your trees and bushes hold up better.

  3. We had the same scene unexpectedly this morning. None of us had heard of possible snow and we woke up to several inches. The sun is out now, trying to melt it. Not much snow all winter but March promises to be a different story if you listen to the forecasters. They are saying at least 7 inches on Thursday!
    Blessings and hugs,

  4. It is pretty for sure, but I'm definitely ready for green grass and flowers. It is another warm one here (70), but thunderstorms are forecast for tonight with winds in the 50-60 mph range! Temps will drop and tomorrow's high is only forecast in the low 40's. Our roller coaster weather continues.

  7. That certainly is a pretty sight, but dont know how I would get on living with snow in the winter. Guess if you grow up in these conditions you get used to it.

  9. It's March 7 here, and Madison has a similar look. I don't mind, though I hope it's winter's last hurrah.
