How Odd
My knitting has slowed to a crawl. I knew my trip in July would hinder my progress, but I didn't anticipate that even the Oddball blankets would stop coming. I rely on the Oddballs to give me a boost of enthusiasm and inspiration, but I haven't knit on one since June. I belong to two groups, so not having any Oddball for that long is very strange. The Oddball forums on KnittingHelp.com and Ravelry have been quiet all summer: I hope it doesn't mean this project is dying.
One of the coordinators contacted me in mid-June to ask if I was ready for a blanket, and I readily said, "Yes." I was told the blanket was sent, but two weeks later informed that the knitter had not sent it. The blanket has yet to arrive, and now the coordinator cannot reach the other knitter. I might as well use the yarn that I was reserving for this little Oddball.
Perhaps, it is time to find another projects for my Oddball tendencies.

Oh I hope not....I think they are great boosters and wonderful charity gifts.
ReplyDeleteIt does sound like interest is waning. That's too bad. An oddball of yarn is always good for hats, mittens or striped scarves.
ReplyDeleteI don't knit much but I have been working on socks lately. I love em!
ReplyDeleteNancy, maybe it's just because of the summer. I hope it picks up for you. You certainly give a lot back to the community. I am proud of you.
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking it is just the time of year, too. It's been so hot all over the country it's been hard to think of knitting. I hope the project doesn't taper off.
ReplyDeleteIt must be the warm weather..even the bloggers have slowed down:(
ReplyDeleteOh man...this is sad to hear. Perhaps you can start something locally? Then you wouldn't have to pay postage but could have good fellowship with other local knitters?
