Scrap-taming
It seems like all I've been doing lately is working with scraps. These "four-patches" helped to tame my the bag of two-inch strips. I didn't have a clue what to make with them, but I decided to combine them into larger blocks of 36 patches. I made 24 of the 36-patch blocks that will finish at 9.5 inches once they are sewn together.
When the 36 patch blocks were finished, I made 21 "churn dash" blocks, and the two will be used together in a Quilt of Valor that will hopefully be finished by next week.
Scraps are the best...and I love what you have come up with for using yours!!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you have a real good start! :-)
ReplyDeleteYou have to be really clever to use scraps and love the top one!!
ReplyDeleteI've definitely had that experience before, every project having something to do with scraps. I want to know where they all come from!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see how this newest quilt comes out for you. But then you always do a great job.
ReplyDeletePerfect use of your scraps:)
ReplyDeletevery creative use of your scraps!
ReplyDeletethat is a great idea to make 4-patches with scraps. I have some left over 4-patches in my scrap bin. Now you've inspired me to pull those out and start a new box where I can keep adding 4-patches until I have enough to do something. I like this idea. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI love the blue and yellow! You do amazing things with scraps. Can't wait to see the finished product.
ReplyDeleteI love how much you do with your scraps! You're so industrious and creative with your materials!
ReplyDeleteI, too, love what you do with putting your scraps into great combinations for a quilt. I'm anxious to see what this one looks like finished.
ReplyDeleteOh, I can't wait! You are an inspired quilter.
ReplyDeleteThat definitely works Nancy. I just picked up 2 big tubs of fabric form a lady who is cleaning out her mom's stuff. I'm hoping my guild will be able to make charity quilts with the fabs. Lots of plaids and solids.
